Acer Announces Aspire & Swift Laptop Line-ups in New York Press Event

acer aspire, acer swift, acer two in oneYesterday Acer unveiled their latest version of the Acer Aspire and Acer Swift laptop series in New York.

Acer categorized their Aspire series in three different categories in a press release: the first one is chiefly aimed for “family-and-student” – Aspire 1 and Aspire 3 falls under this category. While Aspire 5 is categorized as “practical and mainstream”, they describe this as high end and Aspire 7 as the “top of the line” product range.  We can easily understand how they have decided on these categories. If we have a look at the hardware system then this division can be figured out without any doubt.

Acer Aspire 1:

The Aspire 1 has got an Intel Celeron or Pentium processor in addition to integrated graphics. These laptops are quite affordable and perfect for everyday tasks. It features 802.11ac wireless technology. Along with this, users will get a 14-inch display, 32GB or 64GB eMMC storage, Intel HD Graphics, 4GB DDR3L memory, and 9-hour of battery life.

Acer Aspire 3:

The Aspire 3 offers some advanced features than Aspire 1. Though it has added Intel Core processors but is still restricted to integrated graphics. It has a 14-inch HD, 15.6-inch HD, or 15.6-inch Full HD display. The memory supports up to 12GB. Another plus is Acer’s BlueLightShield technology that reduces blue-light emission from the screen and lessens eye strain significantly.

Acer Aspire 5:

In the Aspire 5 users will get “the latest Nvidia GeForce graphics.” This laptop can easily substitute a small Desktop PC as this has got 7th generation Intel Core Processor. Aspire 5 is also packed with to 20 GB of 2400 MHz DDR4 memory. It gives us freedom to choose from a wide range of storage options, with HDD up to 2 TB, or SSD M.2 up to 256 GB.

Acer Aspire 7:

Acer describes it as a “powerhouse performance” laptop for multimedia and gaming. It will be available in two different screen sizes, 15.6-inch as well as a 17.3-inch system. The optional matte Full HD IPS display (1920×1080 pixels) can be integrated with both the systems. It features 32GB DDR4 2400 MHz memory, and supports up to 2TB HDD or 512GB M.2 SSD storage, in addition to an HDR camera. One can play the most graphics-intensive games in it without having any issues.

Price & Release Date:

If you want acceptable performance within a budget then these latest Aspire range will perfectly match your needs. The starting price for the Aspire 1 is set at $219 while the Aspire 3 starts at $299. The Aspire 5 and Aspire 7 will be available at $449 and $799 respectively. Acer also launches its convertible Swift series laptops in the New York press event. These lightweight laptops are extremely thin and stylish looking that captures everyone’s attention.


 Acer Swift 1:

Swift 1 is just 17.9 mm thick and this entry level Swift model weighs only 1.6 kg. It is powered by an Intel Apollo Lake processor. Swift 1 features 13.3 inch Full HD IPS display along with stylish diamond cut edges. Some other important features include Pentium N3710 Quad-core 1.60 GHz processor, 4 GB DDR3L SDRAM, up to 256GB SSD, Intel HD Graphics 405 with Shared Memory. Users can choose between Windows 10 Pro as well as Windows 10 Home.

Acer Swift 3:

If you want more power and advanced feature then Swift 3 is a good option. These laptops come in 14 inches and 15.6 inches display screen with full HD quality displays. It also incorporates Intel Kaby Lake processor and boasts comparatively compact designs. Swift 3 series laptops come equipped with NVIDIA GeForce graphics offering extremely good multimedia. It supports diverse storage options varying from 500GB to 2TB HDDs and 128GB to 512GB SSDs.

Acer Swift 5:

This technology has also helped to reduce the size and weight of the device significantly.  This two in one laptop has 802.11ac Wi-Fi, and users will get 10.5 hours long battery life. The device also offers 2 MP front as well as 5 MP rear camera with a decent quality photograph.  It has got auto-retracting kickstand that helps users to adjust the screen with one hand, effortlessly.

Though the company hasn’t disclosed much about their latest Acer Aspire and Acer Swift laptop in their press release, we hope we will get an in-depth idea as the product hits the store.

Price & Release Date:

The price for Acer Swift 1 and Swift 3 starts at $329 and $599 respectively. Both will be released in North America in June.

Acer is offering Switch 5 at $799 in the US. But in Europe, the starting price for Switch 5 is set surprisingly high at €1,099 ($1,192)—approximately $400 more. Acer Switch 1, 2, 3 and 5 will be available in June in the US market.
